Bionic Porous Design and Mechanical Response of Short Implants

Abstract Due to the material itself and traditional geometric design, short implants have problems of high stiffness, less osseointegrated area, lower long-term reliability in clinical application. In this research, with various porous structures were constructed their biomechanical responses evaluated, including properties, compression capability, stress distribution surrounding bone tissue. Thus, three types built: diamond-like implant (5.0 × 5.0 mm), hexahedral solid mm). Three implant-supported prosthetic models built based on above implants, static mechanical properties assessed. Besides, average stiffness regular cylindrical samples was calculated by test simulation. The result confirmed that showed minimum peak compared implants. Similarly, value peaks bone-implant interface for appeared than other two Compression simulation indicated cylinders after design 92.2% 56.3% cylinder. Compared designs, obtained better distribution, even avoiding overstress.
